In collaboration with the Chancellor and Department 51, Heidi Helmhold conducted a survey on student mobility in 2010 as part of the master plan development for the University of Cologne. The survey asked about students‘ spatial routines and work behaviour on campus: travel patterns, places of residence, internet access, chill-out zones and use of green spaces.
In addition to sporadic interviews and building and campus tours, an online survey of Cologne students was conducted. The results were incorporated into the university’s master plan development and were intended as a contribution to spatial quality assurance in the university quarters.
